The basket of leaves behind Ca’Øriginale
The origin story — a basket woven from leaves in the interior of Brazil, and the question that became Ca’Øriginale.

Almost ten years ago, in a small city in the interior of Brazil, I came across a basket woven from leaves.
I never learned the name of the person who made it. I never found out where they had learned, or who taught them, or how long one basket took. What I do remember is standing there longer than the basket seemed to ask for — the way you do when something is more thought-through than it first appears.
It was original. It carried an identity you cannot design in a meeting or order in bulk. And holding that in my hands, I had a thought that has not left me since: how much creativity, excellence, beauty and culture exists in the world without ever being truly seen?
How many artisans, producers, designers, places and experiences carry something extraordinary — and stay hidden, not for any lack of worth, but for the simple lack of a window?
Because no one wins when something this good stays a secret. Not the maker. Not the culture that shaped the hands. Not the person on the other side of the world who would have loved it, had they only known it was there.
For almost a decade, that question lived quietly inside me. I kept it the way you keep a thing you are not yet ready to act on — turning it over, season after season, until it had a shape. Ca’Øriginale is what it became.
A place that gathers media, curated discovery, a market and travel experiences under one roof. Not to turn everything into content. But to let people feel the passion, the identity and the patience behind what is made with soul — and, when they want to, to step closer: to discover a maker, reserve an experience, bring something home.
A window into worlds that rarely get one. The hidden ateliers. The independent producers. The places with a pulse. The objects with a story. The experiences that remind us beauty is still, stubbornly, human.
Perhaps this is what luxury means now. Not excess. Not noise. Not being seen by everyone. But access to what is real, original and deeply human.
We point to it, and step back.
Welcome to Ca’Øriginale.
In a world of sameness, we uncover the originals.
